AdvisorShares Active ETF Market Share Update – Week Ending 2/17/2017

Assets in actively managed ETFs added $325 million, more than 1%, to reach $31.559 billion. There was one new fund from First Trust last week, which brings the total to 162. First Trust was the leader in asset growth with $159 million followed by $94 million for State Street and $35 million for PIMCO. There were very few decliners last week with only PowerShares standing out with a $41 million drop. At the strategy level, Bank Loan showed continued popularity adding $87 million, Global Bond added $83 million and Short Term Bond chipped in with $72 million. Again, very few categories lost assets; Alternative contracted by $25 million. AdvisorShares Active ETF Market Share Update – Week Ending 2/10/2017

Assets in actively managed ETFs experienced a net gain of $380 million to reach $31.233 billion in total net assets. The number of active ETFs trading declined by four to 161. Alpha Architect, sponsor of MomentumShares and ValueShares, successfully changed the SEC exemptive of their four ETFs from actively managed to passively managed. While not covered in last week’s active ETF market share update, this change went into effect on February 1st. On the provider level, First Trust grew by $143 million, PIMCO added $121 million and State Street gained $84 million. Aside from the aforementioned change at Alpha Architect, the only other outflows of note came from Guggenheim, which realized a $19 million decline. At the strategy level, Short Term Bond witnessed an increase of $147 million, Global Bond gained $75 million and Alternative Income added $55 million. AdvisorShares Active ETF Market Share Update – Week Ending 2/3/2017

Assets in actively managed ETFs had a $144 million uptick to $31.017 billion. No new funds launched last week, which leaves the total at 165. First Trust had the largest net gain with $89 million followed by $39 million for State Street and $23 million for PIMCO. iShares was the only decliner of note. At the strategy level, Alternative Income was the leader with an $80 million increase. Bank Loan added $16 million and US Equity grew by $15 million. None of the categories tracked for this report had meaningful declines. Assets in actively managed ETFs increased by $211 million to $30.872 billion. There was one new fund from Franklin last week, which brings the total number of funds to 165. First Trust led the asset growth with $120 million followed by $43 million for PowerShares and $33 million at State Street. PIMCO declined by $43 million while iShares contracted by $29 million. At the category level, Short Term Bond grew by $59 million, Bank Loan attracted $51 million and Alternative Income was better by $40 million. The only decliner of note was Global Bond, which lost $51 million. Assets in actively managed ETFs took a $55 million dip last week down to $30.661 billion. Virtus added a new fund to its lineup, which takes the overall active ETF total to 164. PowerShares added $93 million in AUM while Virtus added $26 million coincident to its new fund launch. PIMCO declined by $97 million while Fidelity lost $93 million. At the strategy level, Alternative grew by $102 million and Bank Loan continued its recent, strong growth trend with $39 million. Short Term Bond contracted by $130 million while Global Bond slid by $79 million. Actively managed ETFs had a small $75 million boost to AUM to bring the total to $30.708 billion. Davis Funds, as in Chris Davis, entered the active ETF space last week with three new equity funds which brings the overall total to 163 funds. PowerShares had a net gain of $39 million followed by $27 million for State Street. PIMCO was the only decliner of note, giving back $53 million. At the strategy level, Bank Loan led the way adding $39 million, Alternative brought in $34 million and Alternative Income chipped in with $27 million. Global Bond fell by $52 million.
